Low Mercury

Low Mercury:
All energy-efficient fluorescents must have mercury to excite the phosphors. BlueMax™ compact fluorescents use Amalgam and mercury (not mercury vapor) which is held within the amalgam (alloy) structure. If breakage occurs the mercury would not spill because it is held within amalgam (alloy).
|
| BlueMax™ CFL bulbs contain a minuscule amount of mercury encapsulated within amalgam fill - less than a milligram, or an amount the size of the period
at the end of this sentence. By comparison, a watch battery can contain up to 25 milligrams of mercury.
